hey @staff what the fresh fuck is this
Don’t forget y’all that there’s a much better way for us to let Tumblr know what we think about specific changes, rather than @ ing staff or wip, and it’s sending in a support ticket and choosing feedback!
Tumblr reverted some of the asinine app decisions they made after a concerted feedback effort! So make sure to use this form! It’s what it’s for, but it’s not well advertised!
what the FUCK is this
me: dress how you want!! gender is fake!!! nothing matters!!!!!!
trans person: i like gender tho
me: hell yeah i respect that!!!! i apologize and don’t mean to dismiss your identity with my optimistic nihilism!!!!!!!
Good post OP
Denounce gender roles but respect gender identity.
Denounce gender roles but respect gender identity.
i’m taking the words “fetish” and “kink” away from the internet until you people learn what sexual attraction is
objectification too like it's called "objectification" because the subject of someone's sexual desire is being treated as an object with no desires of their own. there's nothing wrong with thinking a person is sexy as long as you don't forget they're a person. holy shit people
"sexualization and objectification are the same thing” comes straight from “sex is an intrinsically degrading act” and frankly I’m not into that vibe in the slightest
Type "I am" in the tags and whatever follows is your gender today...
Cis gays and trans gays are kissing, actually
if you are dealing with extreme heat or even just. moderate heat in your area right now. 80f/26c is when it starts getting toasty for a lot of people. if you are in a heat wave and you have not done yourself the favor of googling fucking "heat exhaustion symptoms" i am shaking you violently right now. look it up. burn the symptoms into your brain. heatstroke is no joke and it can and WILL sneak up on you before you're aware it's even an issue. ohh my god
if you are outside and it is hot and sunny and you are sweating thru your clothes or feeling tired or starting to get irrationally agitated or upset in another way or feeling nauseous or your heart is pounding etc etc if you are feeling Weird and Bad for no apparent reason while you are in a warm/hot area then i have news for you! you need to cool down! right now! oh my god.
and there's a very good chance that you're gonna think "it's not heat exhaustion, i don't feel any warmer than i have all day" when you consider it as a reason why you are suddenly feeling weirdbad for no apparent reason during a record-breaking heatwave and i would like to say. there is no harm in sitting in the shade and drinking some water even if heat exhaustion isn't the cause of whatever ailment is inflicting itself upon u. once i swore up and down to my bf that i was just kinda tired and headachy and got bitchy about the possibility of being overheated and needing to drink water. because heat exhaustion tends to make you bitchy. but i did as he asked and drank some cold water and my condition immediately improved. because it was heat exhaustion and heat exhaustion is evil and a liar. sit down. drink water
- you will not feel any warmer because you are not warmer
- it's not about being warmer it's about time spent being a little too warm
- also hydration (always drink so much more water than you think you need to be drinking, you are losing more when it's warm)
- do not cool down too fast or hydrate too fast. get somewhere cool (not freezing) and sip water (not chug). but like a lot of it, and for at least 15 minutes.
- if you start feeling headachey or nauseous, it is becoming urgent. seek medical assistance ASAP.
- if confusion sets in (you will most likely notice this in other people rather than yourself) it is becoming very urgent.
- seek medical assistance ASAP if you or anyone else becomes incapacitated suddenly, sits down suddenly, becomes confused or is making very little sense, while it is warm out.
- this includes strangers: check in with people who are sitting down in strange places- like "resting" in direct sunlight- and especially if they cannot tell you clearly and with sound reason why they are sitting down there, or even why they feel unwell.
- this includes mildly warm weather, and any sunny weather. remember: it's not just temperature, it's a lot of other factors (hydration, personal tolerance, time spent in the sun or heat, etc.)
- anyone with an up-to-date (within the last 2 years) first aid certification should be trained in how to help with heat exhaustion and heat stroke. if you're in a public place, you can often just shout for help. or you can contact someone you know with an up-to-date cert; anyone working in childcare will almost definitely have one. (this is true in the US, I cannot verify for other countries)
Signed: I'm not a medical professional, this is from various first aid certs and a bit of online research to double check my memory.

LPT: Don't throw your junk mail away. Use it to to help the USPS instead!
Next time you get a credit card offer in the mail, or a junk piece of mail that includes a prepaid envelope or postcard, don't throw it away! Send the envelope back with a blank sheet of paper inside, or don't fill the postcard out, but still send it back. The company that sent it to you had to pay the USPS for postage on each one they get back. This is a way to support the USPS by doing very little, and sticking it to the annoying companies that want all of your money.
In the 90s we would send companies “hate mail” by stuffing prepaid envelopes with things like ‘blanks’ (flat heavy metal pieces), a roofing shingle) and layers of other competitors’ mail or junk news. This is because the company would have to pay more upon recieving the junk mail. It eats into them. It actually somewhat reduced our junk mail returnables, I think.
Send that mail y’all.
Except please don't do this to nonprofits!!
If you do this when you get a donation request or something from a nonprofit, you'll be forcing small organizations with very little overhead to deal with the incoming mail and paying for the postage.
Credit card companies? YES. Personal loan offers? ABSOLUTELY. The chain store you've never shopped at who bought your info from a competitor? BY ALL MEANS.
But don't do this to your local "Friends of the Library" fundraiser or homeless outreach program or anything like that. You'll be draining their limited resources that would be better used elsewhere.
Feel free to do it to groups like Salvation Army, PETA, or Susan Komen cuz fuck them.
Hey y'all. I was talking to a retired postmaster about this.
She was 100 percent for this, bit please PLEASE do not use metal pieces or roof tiles. It can jam the sorting machines and cost the office millions to replace it.
Cardstock? Other papers? Fine. They are flexible. They go through the machine without issue.
So go ahead, send the junk mail, but limit it to paper.
just a reminder - do NOT boycott streaming services or not watch new things. the unions have not called for one for a reason. for one, it affects residual payments, which as minimal as those currently are, actors are still getting them during this time, and for two, studios will use lack of viewership as an excuse to cancel shows because you are showing them there is no demand. it deeply affects the industry the writers and actors stand to come back to once the strike is over
Also: going to these places puts pressure and demand on the company. Demand they can't meet without actors and writers. That puts stress on them, and stress is good.
^^^^ive been looking for a rb with this addition because YES. if a customer wants a burger and there is no cook to make it, that puts pressure on the owner to pay the cook what they want so the customer will still give them money. if there is no customer, the owner has no reason for the cook to make burgers
Stop watching IF AND ONLY IF the unions call for a boycott. For the time being since they haven't, streaming the shows actually helps. You're not crossing a picket line to watch because that picket line does not exist unless a boycott is called for.
have you ever used Tumblr live before?
yes, I regularly use Tumblr live
I use it sometimes, but not regularly
Used to, but not anymore
Have never used it
For the record, accidentally tapping on Tumblr live when it randomly appears every week does not count as using Tumblr live for the sake of this poll. This is only referring to purposeful use of the feature.
I'd appreciate it if people could share this for a larger sample size!
It sure is interesting how as trans people we're constantly telling people not to assume what genitals others have and then we get other trans people explicitly speculating about the genitals of trans men. Can't they have the decency to at least pretend not to hate us?
literally like imagine forgetting that bottom surgery exists????? imagine trans ppl who do not want ppl to interact with their genitals during sex?????? imagine not reducing trans ppl to their genitals?????? just call us cuntboys and get it over with.
they really took "it's really unfortunate that so many trans people have had such bad experiences with cis partners that they feel they not only want to avoid that personally, but that there is no hope for any trans person to find a genuinely loving cis partner." and instead of concluding, "we should strive to hold onto hope and look for the good, even in those populations that hold relative power, lest we become entrenched in hopelessness and helplessness" they were like.
"it must be your fault, somehow"
